Your local health station provides primary healthcare services, including doctor’s and nurse’s appointments, and other necessary services. It is your primary place for receiving care, and you can be referred from there for further examinations and treatments. The phone service for doctor and nurse appointments at the health station is available from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, tel.+358 13 330 2334. This service handles both urgent and non-urgent matters. Please follow the instructions provided in the phone recording.
For urgent issues outside of these hours that cannot wait until the next day, please call the emergency assistance number 116117.
If you need urgent care, such as due to an accident, you can go directly to the emergency clinic at the Central Hospital in Joensuu. However, we recommend calling your health station first. When the health station is closed, sudden illnesses and accidents are treated at the Central Hospital’s joint emergency department.

When you contact the dental clinic, an oral health care professional assesses your need for care and level of urgency. Based on this assessment, you will receive advice or an appointment for a dental nurse, oral hygienist or dentist.
Dental clinics are open on weekdays.
The emergency clinic is intended for all patients requiring first aid treatment. The urgency of the need for care is assessed by phone. Patients who are suffering from pain, swelling or an injury are treated immediately or within 24 hours of calling. The dental emergency clinic does not fix chipped teeth or repair loose fillings.
