Integra­tion services

The objec­tive of integra­tion services is to support the adjust­ment of people who have moved to Finland from abroad into Finnish society and culture. This aims to enable immigrants to partici­pate equally in society while cheris­hing their own culture. Integra­tion is regula­ted by the Act on the Promo­tion of Integra­tion.

The integra­tion services of the city is respon­sible for guiding and counse­ling immigrants, conduc­ting initial assess­ments, prepa­ring integra­tion plans, and managing tasks related to the recep­tion of immigrants at the munici­pal level. Their role is to help immigrants integrate by connec­ting them with the appropriate services within society.

A unique integra­tion plan is created for each immigrant. For working-age indivi­duals, this plan is prepa­red in coope­ra­tion with the emplo­y­ment office.

All services are free of charge and confi­den­tial.
